HALE COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

A young mother was killed in a fire in Hale County early Monday morning, but not before saving her children with the help of the oldest son.

Nothing but charred rubble remains of the mobile home after a fire broke out around 4 a.m. in Greensboro, taking the life of Melissa Rabon. Investigators don't yet know what caused the fire.

Mentha Rabon, Melissa's mother, is still in shock.

"To find out your daughter died like that and she was so young. She just had a birthday on the ninth of July, turned 29," Mentha Rabon said.

Melissa leaves behind three sons: Jaylon Rabon, 12, O'Brien Ward Jr., 7, and Marshawn Rabon, 2.

Authorities say Melissa made sure all three boys made it out safely but unfortunately she didn't make it out trying to fight the fire in her bathroom.

"The oldest son, he did a great job of making sure that the other smaller children was out of the residence," Sheriff Kenneth Ellis said.

Now the family is looking for help for these young survivors without their mother.

"Well they lost everything, so really they need love and clothes, food. They just need attention right now because it hasn't really soaked in," Mentha Rabon said.

Northport Fire Rescue is collecting donations for the three boys. Their sizes are listed as:

-2 year old (size 2-3T and 7.5 shoe)

-7 year old (size 8-10 and shoe 4)

-12 year old (size 12-14 and shoe 8)

Donations can be dropped off at Northport Fire Rescue: Station #4, 4900 Rose Blvd, Northport, AL 35475. It's near Tuscaloosa County High School.

Hale County EMA has set up a Melissa Rabon Fund at People's Bank of Greensboro and The Citizens Bank to help take care of funeral expenses and these young boys. You can give toward the fund at the following locations:
