TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Deputies from the Tuscola County Sheriff's Office pronounced a 56-year-old Frankenmuth man dead at the scene of a vehicle crash.

Deputies responded to a crash at Hart and Weaver roads in Tuscola Township at 9:14 a.m. on Wednesday. Upon arrival at the scene they discovered Darwin Bierlein was dead.

The investigation showed the vehicle had left the road while traveling southbound on Hart Road and struck a ditch.

The 56-year-old man was the driver and there weren't any other passengers in the vehicle, police said.

Police said the autopsy results showed Darwin died from a heart condition, not from the crash.
