One of the members of the band Player recently had his north Phoenix home burglarized and the suspect took some things money can't buy.

In the Spring of 1978, the band Player hit No. 1 with the song Baby Come Back.

Drummer John Friesen had four gold records hanging on the wall of his home for the four albums he and the members of his band recorded.

On July 16, a burglar barged in through the front door, making his way into Friesen's home.

The thief parked a dark, bluish-green Cadillac Escalade in the driveway and loaded it up with electronics, clothing, Friesen's wife's wedding rings from family members that had a lot of sentimental value, and the gold records, mounted in cases. Two were 45s and two were LPs.

"I had a few gold records on the wall. They took those. It's not the cost, it's what it means," Friesen said.

One of Friesen's two dogs escaped during the burglary. A neighbor found her hours later and several blocks away. Neither dog was hurt.

A neighbor in the process of moving in a few doors down actually saw the burglar and at first thought it was the Friesen. Later that afternoon, when Friesen got home, the neighbor realized the man in the green SUV was there to steal.

The tragedy has turned into something positive. Friesen and his wife have befriended more people on their street. They said they hope sharing their story urges other people to get to know their neighbors, and possibly help get some of their valuables back.
