PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A Southeast Portland porn shop is running afoul of some neighbors with a graphic poster advertising very specific hardcore adult videos.

The poster, hung at eye-level in the storefront, advertised such "genres" of pornography as bestiality and rape, and promises customers questionable viewing material such as Junior Miss Pageants.

"I think it's really disgusting and should be taken down," said Matilda Fox, who happened to be walking by the area Wednesday when she noticed the poster. "I would hate that anyone even think that's OK to put that in a window, let alone run a business like that."

The shop's owner, Angelo Ardito, who claims he's been in business in Portland for 38 years, said all his materials are perfectly legal, and so is his poster.

"It's the right of free speech. I'm not doing anything wrong," said Ardito. "I just sell things so people can enjoy whatever entertainment they like. It doesn't mean I enjoy it."

Asked specifically about the advertisement for videos featuring children, Ardito said those are legal, too, because they contain no nudity or sexual acts.

Ardito said he also sells mainstream books in the front of the store, and has an adult section only in the back. He said he is very careful about checking customers' ID before allowing them into the adult section.

On Thursday, Ardito said he agreed to take the sign down. He said his landlord asked him to remove it from the window.

However, Ardito said the kinds of videos advertised on the sign would still be sold in his store.
