Homeowners respond to accusations of dangerous dogs

Posted: Updated:

A local couple is responding after accusations from their neighbors that their dogs are violent and a threat to the neighborhood.

Deemetrius and Magdalena Morris say their four dogs that they keeps chained behind a home on Mershon Street in Saginaw are safe.

They spoke out after TV5 talked to neighbors in the area who fear the animals could attack. So the Morrises brought out the dogs to show our crews they are not aggressive as neighbors claim.

The neighbors also claim the animals are neglected because no one currently lives in the home - accusations the Morrises dispute.

Deemetrius said that he "comes over every day to feed my dogs and give them water" and that he loves his dogs like they're part of his family.

Deemetrius is asking for his neighbors to give him time as he plans to build a privacy fence around his back yard to try and alleviate some of the fear. It's something neighbors say can't happen soon enough.

TV5 also contacted Saginaw County Animal Control. They told us they are aware of the complaints at the home and promise an investigation if it is found necessary.
