CLARE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A nine hour standoff with an armed man has ended peacefully.

The Clare Police Department was called to the 200 block of Dwyer Street at around 10 last night after reports of an armed man that was out of control.

When officers arrived, they said several shots were fired from inside the home. That caused officers to evacuate several nearby residences, including people who live at the Brookwood Apartments.

The Michigan State Police Emergency Service team were called in to help with the situation. Police negotiators were able to talk the 43-year-old Clare resident out of the home, and he peacefully turned himself in.

Donald Anzalone was arraigned on one count of discharging a firearm in or at a building on Wednesday. The charge is a four year felony.

He is being held on a $100,000, 10 percent bond with a court ordered mental evaluation required prior to release, police said.
