ARMADA, Mich. (AP) -

Authorities say a 14-year-old girl found slain along a nature trail in northern Macomb County died of head trauma and suffocation.

The Detroit Free Press reports a death certificate filed in the Macomb County Clerk's Office says April Millsap died of blunt head trauma and asphyxia due to neck compression.  It lists her manner of death as a homicide.  It says the interval between onset and death was minutes.

Joggers found Millsap's body July 24 in a drainage ditch along the Macomb Orchard Trail in Armada.

The recent middle school graduate disappeared while walking her dog.

Police and FBI agents last week were stopping vehicles entering and leaving the southeastern Michigan village, about 35 miles northeast of Detroit. They continue to investigate.

About 200 people attended her funeral Friday.
