RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

A 12-year-old faces charges after hitting his 4-year-old brother with a hammer.

Police say the boy was fighting with someone around 2 a.m. Wednesday inside his home on Raven Street. He started to swing a hammer during the argument, and the hammer accidentally hit his 4-year-old brother in the head.

The 4-year-old was taken to the hospital, and is expected to be ok.

We know the mother was also inside the home at the time, but police say at this point, she does not face any charges.
