MT. ANGEL, OR (KPTV) -

Mt. Angel police say a woman set her husband on fire to "get his attention."

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday at the home on Gilles Street.

Police said an officer on patrol saw a man a woman outside the home. He saw the man had something in his hand that appeared to be on fire.

The officer initially assumed there had been a barbeque or mechanical accident.

Police said the woman Toddi Bork, 45, ran to the officer screaming that she'd set her husband purposely on fire.

Bork then placed her hands behind her back and stated that she needed to be arrested, officers said.

The husband, Timothy Bork, 43, suffered burns to his face and chest, covering 15 percent of his body.

Paramedics took him to Silverton Hospital. Life Flight later flew him to the burn unit at Legacy Emmanuel Center.

Toddi Bork later said there had been an argument before the incident that upset her, according to police.

Officers said Toddi Bork admitted to spraying Timothy Bork with gasoline from a gas can and set him on fire to "get his attention."

Police charged Bork with assault and reckless endangerment. Deputies later booked her into the Marion County Correctional Facility.
