Two dead in Huron Co. crash

HURON COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Two people have been killed in a two-vehicle crash in Huron County's Sheridan Township. The accident happened at the intersection of McIntyre and Barrie roads around 3:15 p.m. Monday afternoon.

A vehicle being driven by 42-year-old Marie Wolschlager was traveling southbound on Barrie Road and failed to yield at the intersection crashed into another vehicle.

Two other passengers were traveling with Wolschlager at the time of the crash.

The other vehicle was being driven by 31-year-old Matthew Gray of Bad Axe. Both vehicles exited the roadway and ended up in a nearby ditch.

The Jaws of Life were called in to help free the passengers from Wolschlager's vehicle. All three passengers in Wolschlager's vehicle were transported to area hospitals by helicopter.

Wolschlager died while being stabilized for the flight. One of Wolschlager's passengers, 20-year-old Bryan Bevier, was pronounced dead at a Saginaw hospital.

Another passenger in the vehicle, 18-year-old Elizabeth Shepard, was transported to a Saginaw hospital where her injuries are unknown.

Matthew Gray, the driver of the other vehicle was not seriously injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
