Many Genesee, Lapeer Co. residents in the dark

GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A number of Genesee and Lapeer County residents are without power Wednesday morning but the lights are expected back on soon.

About 600 customers are offline in a pocket that stretches from Kettering University east to Martin Luther King Drive. The power is expected to back on around 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Another pocket of outages has nearly 250 customers offline just northeast of the town of Genesee. The pocket is along Mt. Morris Road north to Frances road.

It is unclear as to when residents in that area will have thier power restored.

In Lapeer County, DTE Energy is reporting a pocket of outages between Columbiaville and Deerfield Township. About 150 customers are affected in that area. Officials expect full restoration by 4 p.m. Wednesday.

There are also small pockets of outages being reported throughout Deerfield Township.
