Police hold press conference to help stop violence in Flint

Police in Flint held a press conference Friday to talk more about a shooting that injured five people early Thursday morning.

The also laid out a plan on what they are doing to stop this from happening again.

The department is banding with several agencies across the area to help fight the recent outbreak of violence in the city.

During the news conference inside police headquarters, Flint P.D., the ATF, Michigan State Police and the Genesee County Sheriff's Department reminded residents that they are serious about crime and protecting the streets.

This comes on the heels of a shooting that injured five people around 3 a.m. Thursday on the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Avenue.

All of the victims were taken to the hospital. At last check, four of the victims were listed in good condition. Another is listed in serious condition.

The identity of the victims has not been released.

Police are continuing to search for suspects.
