Rain moving through mid-Michigan

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

A warm front has pushed a line of showers and thunderstorms across the Lower Peninsula this morning.

While it was on the western side of the state, the storms were strong, and a few severe thunderstorm warnings were issued early this morning.

However, these storms weakened significantly as they moved toward us. Most have seen light to moderate rain, with only a few rumbles of thunder.

The rain will end by the afternoon, then you can expect partly cloudy skies. Southwesterly winds will be breezy, which will do a couple of things.

Moisture will be ushered in, so it will feel slightly sticky outside. The heat will be the bigger story, and highs will reach the mid and upper 80s! This is about 10° above the seasonal average.

A cold front arrives Friday, bringing our next round of showers and storms. This will also cool us down for the weekend.
