Inmate escapes while working community service

ISABELLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

The Isabella County Sheriff's Department found the inmate who didn't return after working on community service in the Shepherd area.

Edward John Lalone walked away from a community service program on Sept. 4 and was apprehended by the Midland County Sheriff's Department on Friday.

Lalone was serving a 90 day sentence at the Isabella County Jail for nonpayment of child support, police said.

Lalone was spotted in Midland County and has been returned to the Isabella County Jail to face charges of escape, police said.
