Still many Thumb residents without power after Friday storms

Posted: Updated:

Many Thumb-area residents are still without power after the storms that blew through mid-Michigan last Friday.

Most of those affected are in Sanilac County's Fremont Township. A huge pocket of outages has nearly 700 customers offline in that area alone. Estimated restoration time is 11:30 p.m. Monday evening.

Another large pocket of outages is being reported just north of Worth Township. Nearly 200 customers are offline in that area. DTE expects restoration Thursday evening around 11:30 p.m.

Less than 100 outages are being reported in an area just north of Elk Township. They can expect power to be restored around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Another 700 customers are in the dark in a pocket of outages located just south of Lexington, along M-25. DTE expects restoration around 11:30 p.m. Monday.

DTE Energy is still assessing the situation and a restoration time has not been given.
