Showers return to Mid-Michigan

Posted: Updated:
High pressure that brought Mid-Michigan a spectacular weekend will skirt off to the east while clouds build in ahead of a disturbance tonight. This will fuel shower activity and even a few rumbles of thunder during the overnight hours late tonight into Monday morning. The bulk of the moisture is expected during the early morning hours on Monday, while widespread shower activity is not ruled out throughout the day. Expect daytime highs to rebound quickly on Monday and Tuesday -- in the upper 60's to even lower 70's, which is close to ten degrees warmer than the seasonal average for this time in October.

The heaviest showers and storms will work their way in ahead of an approaching cold front on Tuesday around lunch time -- rain fall totals are expected to fall between half of an inch to three quarters of an inch across Mid-Michigan. Rain chances associated with this storm system will stick around on Wednesday and Thursday before our next dry spell comes back into play.
