Rainy start to the work week - WNEM TV 5

Rainy start to the work week

Posted: Updated:

The work week is off to a mild, but rainy start.

Our Monday began with a band of rain moving from southwest to northeast through mid-Michigan. We have some drier air behind that initial rain, so we will get a break from the rain during the mid-morning hours. However, keep your umbrella around throughout the afternoon, as we have a few more showers and even a thunderstorm in the forecast.

Today won't be a washout, so expect plenty of dry periods between showers.

Temperature-wise, we had a rather mild October morning, with most locations in the 50s. The average low for this time of the year is in the low 40s.

High temperatures will reach the upper 60s and near 70° today. This is well above the average of 61°.

We will be above average for the work week, then expect a cool-down this weekend.

There is more wet weather on the way this week as an area of low pressure hangs around the Midwest, so keep your wet weather gear ready nearby when you're out and about this week.
