A Sanilac County woman plead guilty, and will spend at least three years in prison for causing a traffic crash that killed two teenagers in October 2014.
Laken Williams, 22, of Lexington, plead guilty on Dec. 1, 2015 on two counts of reckless driving causing death, one count of false report of a felony, and one count of lying to a police officer. She was sentenced Wednesday to 3-to-15-years in prison.
Three people were traveling in a vehicle on Roach Road in Lexington Township about 11 p.m. on Oct. 28, 2014 when it left the roadway and rolled over several times.
Danielle Torrez, 17, and Dakota Moore, 18, were killed in the accident. The vehicle was being driven by Williams, although she initially told police she was a passenger.
Investigators say Williams was driving 100 miles-per-hour on a gravel road when she lost control.
Williams was treated at an area hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
Torrez and Moore were thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
