Special needs woman receives new bike

Posted: Updated:

Friday TV5 brought you the story about a special needs woman in Bay City who had her bike stolen.

On Monday the TV5 rescue squad surprised her with a new bike, even better than the one she had before. It's all thanks to one of their viewers.

"I don't like people stealing from other people, especially handicapped people and that, that's bad," Thomas Magyar said.

When Magyar saw the broadcast about Barbara Warlock's bike getting stolen he new he had to act.

"Most stuff that's on the news nowadays is just bad stuff. We need something good to happen," he said.

Magyar had his bike just sitting in his garage and he's been hesitant to part with it. It belonged to his late father who was also his best friend.

"It meant a lot because it was my dad's bike, but if somebody can use it, they can have it," Magyar said.

The bike means a lot to Magyar's family, but they take comfort in knowing it is going into good hands.

Warlock couldn't stop smiling when she received the news.

She expresses words of gratitude for Magyar's generosity.

"He's honey, he's cute, I love him," she said.

Her caretakers said the Rescue Squad made all the difference and Warlock agrees.

"I love the TV5," she said.

Magyar said that reaction would have made his late father proud of his good deed.

"I know he's up there watching over me," he said.
