Flash drive with wedding photos found at Dollar General

Posted: Updated:

TV5's Rescue Squad is on the search for what some may call a lost treasure.

Someone left a flash drive while shopping at a local Dollar General and now a worker is saying it's his mission to get it back in rightful hands.

Dollar General employee Jeff Schaefer has seen plenty of people lose things, but he said this memory card is different.

"Plugged it in and come to find out it's somebody's wedding photos and it looks like they were done by a professional," Schaefer said.

Schaefer has no idea who they are. So he turned to the TV5 Rescue Squad for help. He hopes to reunite the pair with about 2,000 lost photos.

"You know it's something sentimental to somebody you know that would like to get it back to them. You know it might be the only copies they have," Schaefer said.

The card was found last Friday evening at the Dollar General store in Freeland. The store was busy because of a football game nearby. They expected the customer to come looking for if, but a couple of days went by and no one showed.

"If it would've been my wedding photos and it was the only set I had I know I'd like them to be returned. It's just the right thing to do," Schaefer said.

The district manager of Dollar General thought it was the right thing to do too. Schaefer was presented with a gold star pin for going above and beyond to help a customer, but all Schaefer really wants is to see the couple get their pictures back.

"Everybody just needs to look out for each other and hopefully someone else can do the same thing," he said.

If this flash drive belongs to you please call Dollar General at 989-695-1079.
