Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central has snapped Ithaca's 69-game winning streak with a 22-12 victory in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 6 championship game.
John Lako scored on two short runs Friday for Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central (13-1) at Detroit's Ford Field.
Ithaca (13-1) began its streak in 2010 and had won the last four Division 6 state titles.
The unbeaten streak had been the longest active one in the country and is the second longest in Michigan high school football history. Hudson won 72 straight from 1968 to 1975.
