Wintry mix tonight; rain, snow, sleet possible

Posted: Updated:

This evening's forecast will bring a mixed bag of precipitation to Mid-Michigan. A mix of rain, sleet and snow will fall on the area until around 10 pm.  Temperatures will remain steady and only gradually decrease after midnight.

Once mixed precipitation tapers off after ten, snow flurries will develop and persist well into the overnight hours along the backside of a small cold frontal boundary.

Residual moisture will continue to blow into the state on the back side of this front. That means we will see periods of rain, mixing with snow on Tuesday.  Little to no accumulation is expected through this event. However, be prepared for messy roads late this evening and for the morning drive on Tuesday.

Skies will clear on Wednesday as high pressure moves back in. This will start us off on another stretch of very quiet weather that looks to take us through the weekend. Temps will return to the 40's by the end of the week as well.
