SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

A milder Friday will give way to a similar Saturday. However, changes will be quick to spread over Mid-Michigan when a Cold Front arrives late in the day.

Clouds will thicken up overnight on Friday with scattered light snow showers returning late in the day on Saturday.

Temperatures will be milder, however, with high temps reaching the middle and upper 30s. A better chance for snow will come on Sunday as a new clipper system rolls across the Great Lakes. This weather maker will produce 1-2" of new snowfall with localized heavier amounts expected.

Snow is only one by by-product of this weather system.  The other and the one that will last longer is the Arctic surge that will drive temperatures down into the teens and 20s for afternoon highs.

Daytime highs on Sunday will be set early in the day then gradually fall, setting us up for a frigid Sunday night and Monday morning.  Cold air will remain a top of Mid-Michigan through Wednesday.  We'll see our next chance of precipitation on Thursday.
