SANFORD, MI (WNEM) -

Crews responding to a trailer fire discovered a possible meth lab ablaze in a Mid-Michigan community. Investigators say that on Tuesday a 52-year-old man ran to a neighbor's house to call 911 and report that his home was on fire.

When firefighters arrived at the house at 5582 N. Lake Sanford Rd. in Midland County's Edenville Township they found the man gone and the trailer engulfed in flames. As crews worked to knock down that fire, items used to make methamphetamine were found.

Once the fire was out, the Bay Area Narcotics team was contacted and specially trained personnel came in to remove the caustic materials.

The man was later found at another home in the area and arrested for unrelated outstanding warrants.

The investigation into the potential meth lab is still underway.
