MOUNT PLEASANT, MI (WNEM) -  Various sources are reporting that CMU has found a new head football coach: Lions special teams coordinator John Bonamego.

The Michigan native played his college ball at CMU, and got his coaching start at Mount Pleasant High School back in the 80's.

He's spent 15 seasons as an assistant in the NFL, the last two with the Lions.
Bonamego has said many times over the years that being head coach at Central Michigan is his dream job.

He's 51 years-old, and an official announcement is expected sometime over the next few days.
