First Warn 5

Scattered snow, gusty wind today

Posted: Updated:

We started out today above zero and almost 30° warmer than we were on Monday morning.

However, the wind has picked up to be sustained at 15-25 mph. This has dropped our morning wind chill values to be near -10°.

Highs will reach the low 20s today, but with gusts up to 35 mph, it will feel closer to zero.

Scattered snow will move in throughout the morning and early afternoon.

Track this snow arriving with our Interactive Radar.

We will see light accumulations of a trace to an inch by this evening. These are rather light accumulations, but it will be enough to create slick roads.

On top of that, there will be blowing snow and poor visibility, so please be cautious in these hazardous driving conditions.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Clare, Isabella, and Gratiot counties until 7 PM. This is because of the combination of light snow, wind, and potential visibility issues.

>>>TV5 7-Day Forecast<<<

The scattered snow will end early overnight, with an additional trace to one inch possible.

The cold air returns tomorrow, and Wednesday highs will only be in the teens. Below zero temps are in the forecast for both tomorrow and Thursday night.
