Another Bout with Wintry Weather

Posted: Updated:
SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) - A burst of rain and snow has moved into the area and that has made for slick travel conditions.

A narrow band of steady and heavier precipitation has set up from roughly the Tri-Cities to Flint and the I-69 corridor and should last through the morning commute.

As colder air continue to filter in from the north, much of the activity will likely change over to all snow. This may result in some light snow accumulation up to about 2" along I-69, and up to 1" around the Tri-Cities.

Rain and snow will be lighter and more scattered across the Thumb and north of the Tri-Cities, so any accumulation show amount to little more than a dusting. In any case, use caution if traveling overnight and Tuesday morning.

A few flurries may linger until mid-morning or so on Tuesday, but clouds will hang tough throughout most of the day. High temperatures will be a bit cooler than Monday's, but should still remain fairly comfortable in the low 40s.

From there, things really start to warm up! Spring will be flexing its muscles on Wednesday and Thursday as a period of fair weather takes over. A tremendous pool of mild air over the Plains will spread eastward into the Great Lakes, bringing our temperatures back into the 50s under a mix of sun and clouds! It doesn't stop there, though!

Thursday will offer up temperatures the will soar into the low 60s, but it will come with a slight catch. Clouds will be on the increase throughout the day as a cold front approaches, and some showers will roll in during the afternoon. All in all though, it seems like a small price to pay for some real Spring warmth.

From there, things will remain dry into Easter weekend, and temperatures actually stand to remain fairly close to normal. Highs Friday through Easter Sunday should hold strong in the middle and upper 40s, along with sunshine and some passing clouds.
