FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

The Greater Lansing Jewish Welfare Federation is hosting its annual Holocaust Memorial and Candle Lighting Service.

The event takes place on April 12 at 4 p.m. at Temple Beth EL, 5150 Calkins Road, in Flint. The event features Miriam Brysk, a Holocaust survivor from Warsaw, Poland.

Brysk came to the United States in 1947 and obtained her PhD from Columbia University. She was a scientist and author. After she retired she became an artist depicting the Holocaust through her art, the federation said.

On Monday, April 13 the public will have a chance to meet Brysk at 11:30 a.m. at the Greater Flint Arts Council on Saginaw Street in downtown Flint. She will give a presentation about her Holocaust art.

The federation will provide drinks and dessert at the Monday presentation. The event is free to the public, but participants are asked to RSVP by emailing steven.charleslow@gmail.com.
