FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

A pizza delivery driver was killed attempting a delivery to a vacant home in a possible set up early Tuesday morning.

The Flint Police Department responded to a call about shots being fired on the 1800 block of W. Genesee. Upon arrival officers found David Fuller's body in a vehicle.

The 26-year-old was a pizza delivery driver for Cottage Inn, police said. The house where Fuller's body was found has been abandoned for years, police said.

Ky Washington lives across the street from the abandoned home. She said it was a set up. "No one has lived over there for years, at least five or six," Washington said.

Cottage Inn is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in Fuller's death.

Some pizza companies have created a no delivery after dark rule to minimize any safety risks to drivers.

TV5's Gino Vicci talked with Lensj Nava. He is a driver for the Happy's Pizza location in Saginaw. He says there is a fear that anyone headed out for a delivery could end up in danger.

"We've had drivers quit who quit after being robbed and didn't want to take the pressure anymore," says Nava. Nava has been robbed several times while delivering pizzas. He was most recently robbed at gunpoint.

"I went and parked the car, everything seemed normal," says Nava about the robbery. "When I opened the door, two men came in and proceeded to rob me at gunpoint. They took all the money I had."

Nava was able to get away and call police. Despite being robbed, Nava refuses to carry a gun. His coworkers on the other hand, are taking a different approach.

Anthony McCall works behind the cash register inside the store. He says he exercises his right to carry.

"If he sees my piece, is he going to shoot me to avoid being shot himself?" asks McCall.

Back on the road, Nava says he is very careful about the way he does business. One of the things that Happy's Pizza is considering, ending deliveries a little earlier in the night to avoid potentially dangerous situations.

The funeral services for Fuller are Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Rossell Funeral Home, 307 E. Main Street in Flint.

Cottage Inn has established a donation account at Fifth Third Bank.

A memorial has been erected at the abandoned house where Fuller was murdered.

Rahim Chetom, the store manager at Happy's Pizza in Flint, said he uses a software to track his delivery drivers.

"Diamond Touch is what we use and have been using for four years and it works. We answer a call, locate the home, and make a determination as to whether or not it's safe to deliver in the area," Chetom said.

The software is available for all delivery businesses.
