ISABELLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A large fire broke out in Isabella County, near the community of Winn Sunday afternoon.

Dispatchers confirmed the fire was on Walton Road, near Gilmore Road.

The fire happened at 3:40 p.m. and fire crews put the fire out about 8 p.m.

A small pile of grass and debris were on fire when it was pushed by the wind, causing the flames to rise and catch a grove of dry pine trees on fire, said Michael Main, assistant fire chief for the Fremont Township Fire Department.

Flames rose as high as 50 feet above the tree line, Main said.

There were no injuries.
