SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

The new and improved Saginaw Splash Park will open on May 23.

The park now has a pool wheelchair to offer more access for children with disabilities, the city said in a press release.

The park also has new amenities including boulder climbing structures, pathways connecting the park to the river walk, and news benches and trees. These new features were funded by a grant the city received from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund.

The park will be open daily during the summer season from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is located at Celebration Square, 1830 Fordney Street. That's between Ezra Rust Drive and M-46.

The Celebration Square also has a skate park, tennis courts, and playgrounds.

Admission to the park is free.
