TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Police have arrested a person of interest who they believe is involved in a multi-county crime spree.

Police believe this man has been involved in the multi-county larcenies in St. Clair, Tuscola, Huron and Sanilac counties.

The Sanilac County Sheriff's Office obtained leads from social media that led them to Oakland County, Macomb County and St. Clair County. On July 1, deputies were able to locate nearly $250,000 worth of stolen property. The property appears to have been taken in an organized crime spree which included St. Clair, Huron, Sanilac, and Tuscola counties, police said.

The property included tools, trailers, tractors, and other items.

The items, which included a stolen Arctic Cat ATV from Sanilac County, were located in a swampy area, police said.

The man is being held on unrelated parole absconding charges through the Michigan Department of Corrections.

Police believe others will be charged in relation to the crime spree as the investigation unfolds.

Anyone with information about the crimes should contact their local dispatch center.
