MILLINGTON, MI (WNEM) -

Residents are still picking up the pieces one week after a tornado swept through a Mid-Michigan town.

On June 22 an EF-2 tornado swept through Millington and other parts of Mid-Michigan, damaging residents' homes.

The tornado had peak winds of 115 miles per hour knocking down houses and buildings. Most homes in Michigan are only built to withstand the winds from an EF-1 tornado.

Photos taken a week after the storm show the damage leftover in Millington.

Residents are stepping up to help those impacted by the tornado. There is food and clothing donations at Millington's Church of Nazarene for residents impacted.
