Dry stretch begins Thursday

Posted: Updated:

It's safe to say that we're all ready for a dry stretch of weather that lasts more than a single day. Finally, it looks as though we are on the right path. We'll have to wait for an area of stubborn clouds to eventually make their way out of Mid-Michigan in order to get there, but by your morning commute, we should be seeing the sunshine.

If there's any good news to take away from the cloud cover today, it helped us dodge the rain and thunderstorms this evening with the lack of afternoon heating. We'll still carry an isolated chance of a shower developing in areas where the sun has poked through to stir the atmosphere up, but most of us will remain dry tonight. With the clouds holding our temperatures in check today in the 60s, we'll fall to the middle and lower 50s tonight.

To plan your evening, you can always check out our hour-by-hour forecast.

The chilly start to the morning tomorrow will keep temperatures below average for Thursday. Lower to middle 70s will be our best bet for tomorrow. Locations near the lake shore will be a touch cooler thanks to a northeasterly breeze. Despite the cooler day, sunshine for the entire duration of your afternoon and evening will be a welcomed change of pace.

These conditions will be the rhythm of your weekend as well. An area of high pressure will be firmly in place through Sunday, making any outdoor plans and fireworks for this weekend a sure thing! Sunshine will be abundant and temperatures will return to their seasonal averages, expect upper 70s and lower 80s throughout the weekend. If you are headed out to any late evening events, be sure to bring the jacket. With the lack of clouds throughout the weekend, our temperatures will cool off fast.
