Omarion Humphrey's birth mother at center of court hearing

Posted: Updated:

Despite allegations of abuse and neglect related to her own parenting, Khisha Humphrey, the biological mom of missing nine year old Omarion Humphrey, is taking aim at his foster parents.

"I think there should be criminal charges. You lost a whole child, a whole person," Humphrey said.

The foster parents were his guardians at the time he disappeared July 4th from a park in Davison Township. They remained unidentified during court proceedings today open to the news media.

"They sit there at the place acting like they're looking for him,” Humphrey said. “They sit at that same table grazing, eating, the whole day, they're not going out to look for him. They're just there."

This afternoon in an Oakland County courtroom, attorneys for the Humphreys questioned the Alternatives for Children foster care agency, who placed Omarion in the home of his foster parents in Genesee County.

"Omarion is autistic, he doesn't speak, and obviously he should have been watched like you would watch a two year old every minute of the day," said attorney, Elliot Parnes.

Humphrey, mother to 15 children, had nearly a dozen of the children placed into foster care. She's now fighting to get them back and awaiting word of her son's safe return.

"Hopefully they find him,” Humphrey said. “I know they're going to find him. But I know he's not in that park."
