Investigation from DHHS continues into foster mom, foster agency

FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Omarion Humphrey went missing on July 4 under the supervision of Lulu Richardson at Lake Callis Park and was found dead nearly a week later.

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services spokesman Bob Wheaton says, the agency who placed Omarion, Alternatives for Children and Families, will investigate Richardson.

"Alternatives is investigating the foster parents' license, and making a determination if the foster parent met licensing requirements," Wheaton said.

Meanwhile, DHHS will investigate Alternatives for licensing compliance, a move that is expected to take several weeks to complete.

"That investigation will determine what was done right in this case, and what could have been done better," Wheaton said.
