Do you plan on driving down to the Motor City to hit a Tigers’ game in the near future?

Well, you may want to find a new mode of transportation.

A new study by WalletHub rated Detroit in the top five worst cities to be a driver.

The survey compared the 100 most populated cities in the country by using 21 key metrics including average gas prices, average annual traffic delays, and rates of car theft.

Detroit placed 96, making it the fifth worst city to be a driver. The study said the rate of car thefts is 27 times higher in Detroit than in Irvine, Calif., which placed 76 overall.

Worst cities to be a driver:

96. Detroit, Michigan

97. San Francisco, California

98. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

99. Washington, D.C.

100. New York, New York

Detroit placed 92 for traffic and road conditions and 95 for safety. The Motor City has the highest rate of car thefts out of all 100 cities in the study.

It’s no surprise New York City finished last. The Big Apple placed 99 for costs, as well as driver and car wellness. The city also placed 100 for traffic and road conditions.

New Yorkers may want to stick to taking the subway to work.

The best city to be a driver is Lubbock, Texas, according to the study.
