GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

"It sounded like a helicopter was about to land on my house."

Dawn Thomason wasn't the only homeowner shocked late Tuesday evening by the sound of a police helicopter and squad cars decending on Kearsley High School.

Police are investigating after an incident at a Mid-Michigan high school involving eight juveniles.

Police are still trying to piece together all of the reports. The first report was of a suspicious vehicle at the high school.

It was then determined there were multiple juveniles on the roof of the school, most, if not all are students with the district according to Superintendent Kevin Walworth.

"I received the call shortly before midnight from the Genesee Township police," Walworth said.

A Michigan State Police helicopter was called to the scene to provide aerial help.

A pursuit started with police in the air and on the ground to find the juveniles, police said. Two of them were found hiding under something at a nearby home.

The homeowner fired warning shots in the air to get the juveniles to come out, police said.

Police said eight juveniles were involved in the incident and their status is unclear at the moment. We're also told no one was hurt.

Eventually, two students were detained and released for violating curfew and being on school property after hours.

"You want to instill in the kids to be good citizens," Walworth said. "And not doing things they shouldn't be doing."

An inspection of the roof revealed there was no damage.
