FLINT TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Penny Walt found out yesterday that the Davenport University Campus in Flint Township would be closing its doors.

"I haven't talked to anybody at the school, I found out through an email yesterday," Walt said.

Although the welcome mat was in position no one here was talking; referring all conversation to matter to the Davenport's main campus in Grand Rapids.

Officials their say that due to declining enrollment and more online classes, Davenport University is restructuring several of its campuses across Michigan, and Flint is one of them.

"What am I going to do now? I’ve got to verify financial-wise going to school to make it,” Walt said. “Now I have to look at possibly transferring down to Saginaw or Fenton or where the nearest campus is.”

Montana Jordan who's a student at Mott likes the idea of Davenport product coming there.

"Well Mott is a great school...I think it will be better for them," Jordan said.
