Million dollar Powerball still unclaimed, ticket purchased in Mid-Michigan

Mario Escamilla is the owner of Burton Party store in Owosso. Over the years, he's likely sold millions of lottery tickets.

"We were really hoping it would be one of our regulars," Escamilla said.

But on April 18, his store sold a one million dollar winner.

"Nobody has claimed that winner yet," Escamilla said.

Someone is walking around with a $1 million lottery ticket.

And so far, that person is yet to claim their prize which means the burton party store is out their prize for selling a winning ticket.

"We get a small bonus commission, the way I understand it, it would be about 2-thousand dollars," Escamilla said.

Escamilla will get nothing if whoever bought the ticket doesn't cash it in. Since learning of the winning ticket was sold at his store, he says customers have been anxious to find out who may have won.

"We have regular customers that play the lottery, all the time every week and have been for years and years,” Escamilla said. “It wasn't any of them to our knowledge."

As he scrambled to search for who may have bought the $1 million Powerball ticket, Escamilla even started looking back at tickets he had purchased back in April. But no luck and still no sign of the million dollar winner.

"I didn't buy one that day, that was the first thing I thought of and it was not me," Escamilla said.
