HURON COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A 66-year-old man is dead after losing control of his motorcycle.

The accident happened on Monday about 3:30 p.m. on Kinde Road near Verona Road in Huron County’s Dwight Township.

A 2009 Suzuki motorcycle was travelling westbound on Kinde Road when it entered the north ditch and went out of control, Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson said.

The driver, Richard Frantz, of Kinde, was found unresponsive at the scene.

The 66-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s possible a pre-existing or past medical issue may have been part of the accident, Hanson said.

The investigation is ongoing and the Huron County Medical Examiner’s Office is looking further into the accident.

The Huron County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Central Huron Ambulance Service and the Kinde Area Fire Deparment.
