OAKLAND COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Outside of Woodside Bible Church, there was an overflowing parking lot and a waiting hearse.

The 9-year-old an entire community searched for, Omarion Humphrey, was laid to rest today.

He went missing July 4, before being found nearly a week later, likely drowned at Lake Callis in Genesee County's Davison Township.

During an interview yesterday, Omarion's biological father, Jamell Humphrey, said how devastated the family is.

"He was difficult to take care of it because he was autistic of course, but once you learned how to take care of him, he was fun."

During the funeral, Omarion’s biological mother, Khisha Humphrey told mourners a story of when shoppers at Walmart gave her son weird looks because of his special needs.

Khisha Humphrey said that Omarion looked at her and she knew he didn't care, and that's when she said she learned to not care either.

As the grief stricken friends and family filed out, combat veterans helped load Omarion's casket into the hearse.

Omarion will be laid to rest at Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Pontiac.
