Suspect arrested for attempted bank robbery

A 33-year-old Saginaw man has been arrested for an attempted robbery in Mid-Michigan.

Michigan State Police said a black man entered First Merit Bank, 829 Gratiot Ave., and attempted to rob the bank on July 3. The suspect approached a teller, handing them a note demanding money, but then suddenly exited the bank when another customer entered the bank.

The suspect was arrested at his home in Saginaw on July 23.

He is lodged at the Saginaw County Jail and is expected to be arraigned on Friday.
