Water main break may cause discoloration, pressure problems

FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Flint residents may experience low pressure or discolored water after a water main break on Thursday.

The 12-inch water main broke in the area of Clip Road and Stewart Avenue in Flint. The incident caused a significant water flow on the roadway, said Jason Lorenz, city spokesperson.

Crews were able to decrease the flow of water and repairs are being made.

Residents in the area may experience little to no pressure and discolored water while repairs are underway, Lorenz said.

Running water from the tap for a few minutes should clear any discoloration or odor and the water is still safe to use, Lorenz said.
