PORT AUSTIN, MI (WNEM) -

A man was arrested after he allegedly pulled a knife out on a friend.

The incident happened shorting after midnight on Thursday at an apartment complex on Independent Street in Port Austin.

When deputies arrived on scene they discovered two individuals in a verbal altercation, the Huron County Sheriff’s Department said.

Tyrone Fairley, 44, of Bay City, went to the apartment complex with a friend to visit some acquaintances. As time went on, Fairley got into a verbal altercation with his 50-year-old friend from Bay City and pulled a knife on him, police said.

Fairley threatened to stab his friend, police said.

While the altercation was going on, bystanders tried to stop the argument. That’s when Fairley threatened to stab a 39-year-old female who lived in the complex, police said.

Fairley allegedly held the knife to her arm.

He also allegedly punched another female who lives at the complex, but she left the scene before police arrived, police said.

Fairley was belligerent and intoxicated when police arrived on the scene, they said. He was taken into custody.

Fairley was transported to the Huron County Hail and is facing two charges of felonious assault. He was arraigned Thursday afternoon for assault with a deadly weapon.

He is lodged at the jail on a $10,000 bond.
