Are dogs watching television?

Is your dog a loyal viewer of TV5? According to a 2013 study, it’s actually a possibility.

A 2013 study in “Animal Cognition” explained that dogs could identify images of dogs interspersed with humans and other animals, with no cues other than sight.

While a dog’s vision is dichromatic, meaning they only see in blue and yellow primary colors, they register more images more quickly than humans.

According to National Geographic, domestic dogs can perceive television similarly to human, including recognizing animals they have and haven’t seen in real life.

But, like humans, dogs only half-watch television anyway, preferring to watch something briefly and then move on to something more interesting.

Like that ball you have in your hand.
