Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a road rage incident that investigators say included the suspect ramming the victim’s car several times.

It happened on July 24, at around 11:00 p.m. in Worth Township in Sanilac County.

Deputies report that the suspect vehicle chased, and intentionally crashed into the victim’s vehicle several times in the area of Babcock and Burns Line Roads.

The assault ended when the victims pulled into a parking lot where witnesses were present.

“The successful apprehension of the suspect just points out how important the support we get from our fellow police agencies such as Croswell and Lexington and how vital our P.A.V. Program is,” said Sanilac County Sheriff Biniecki.

Deputies say a short time later the suspect’s vehicle was located on Sylvia Drive. When deputies were trying to make contact with the 43-year-old Lexington suspect, the suspect was seen peeking around a corner of the house holding what appeared to be a rifle.

The suspect was later taken into custody without incident.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident, which lasted over seven hours.

He’s currently being held in the Sanilac County Jail.
