ISABELLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

One man is dead and two others are injured after they were involved in a fatal car accident in Isabella County.

The accident happened on Tuesday about 4 a.m. on E. Bluegrass Road, just west of Encore Boulevard in Union Township.

Guadalupe Rodriguez, 43, of Grand Ledge was driving a 2009 Pontiac G6 westbound on E. Bluegrass Road. He lost control of the car, ran off the road, hit a telephone pole, ran through a parking lot and rolled over multiple times, police said.

There were two passengers in the vehicle. Kimberly Combo, 41, of Grand Ledge and Tom Epps Jr., 24, of Mt. Pleasant.

All three residents were trapped in the vehicle and required extrication, police said.

Rodriguez and Compo were wearing seat belts, while the Epps, who was in the backseat, was not, police said.

The two passengers were transported to McLaren Central Michigan for their injuries. Compo was later flown to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, police said.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Residents in the area lost power as a result of the accident, police said.

The Isabella County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Mt. Pleasant Police Department, Central Michigan University Police, Mt. Pleasant Fire Department, Mobile Medical Response and Central Dispatch.
