FREELAND, MI (WNEM) -

A Saginaw County staple is on the market.

"We will sell to the right buyer," said Patti Bayne Tomczak.

Bayne's Apple Valley Farm could be yours – for $1.15 million.

"The right buyer would be someone who would want to maintain the Bayne's name. Also, maintain the quality and all of the really wonderful products I've developed through the 30 years," Bayne Tomczak said. "My goal is that they'll take it to the next place it needs to be."

It wasn't an easy decision for Bayne Tomczak.

She took over the orchard and shop from her parents, but now is ready for the next step.

"I'd like to go in a different direction. Although it's a very important business to me, and it's very important that my customers know we're looking for the right buyer," Bayne Tomczak said.

The store owner said she heard speculation that she would be closing and wants to set the record straight: that's just not true.

Instead, they're actually ramping up for the new season and new customers.

"We have a lot of really cool stuff in store for them," Bayne Tomczak said."We're re-doing the front of the store. So I've got new lines of clothing, more jewelry. We're revamping the front of the store, so it will be totally different."

So while Bayne's may still be closed right now for the season, they will reopen starting next Friday, Aug. 10.
