Man's death remains a mystery months later

FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Harold Ashburn lost a best friend.

"I just fell through the floor when I heard that," Ashburn said.

He and Robert Langston had been pals for 56 years. But on May 26, Langston was found dead at the neighborhood Jackson Park in Flint.

Ashburn, along with friends and family of Langston gathered Thursday at the police department, hoping someone will come forward offering tips in the unsolved case.

"They want answers. They want this here to be solved," Ashburn said.

Right now authorities are calling the case suspicious. And that's very frustrating to Langston’s family who desperately want justice for their loved one.

“Every day he’s been gone, I miss him so much,” said Denise Langston, Robert’s sister.

She said every day without her brother is a nightmare. Denise Langston believes someone killed him and wants to know why.

"What could Robert have done so bad that you had to take his life?" Denise Langston said.

Ashburn said enough is enough. And he strongly believes it is up to all of us doing our part, to help make everyone safer.

"We need to stand up as a community to let the people know that we are no longer going to accept this kind of behavior in our city. You know the police can't do anything. It's going to take the community," Ashburn said.
